Join Miss Rosie as she celebrates her birthday with a night of music from the golden age of jazz, backed by her swinging band the Moonshyne Runners. Expect to hear the classic tunes made famous by iconic vocalists like Billie Holiday, Chris Connor, and Anita O’Day in an evening that celebrates the spirit of swing and the Great American Songbook. It’s sure to bring the bounce back to your steps. This fast-rising sextet played in the Clore Ballroom of the Royal Festival Hall on just their third appearance. They’ve performed at Ronnie Scott’s, The Bear Club, The Hanwell Hootie and at jazz clubs and swing dance events all around London.
The Duke said it best – it don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got…ah, you know the rest.
Miss Rosie formed the Moonshyne Runners in 2016 to celebrate the spirit and sound of swing. Equally at home improvising in jazz clubs and filling the dancefloor at swing dance nights, the band believes the melody is the heart of any great song.
