Two 45 minute sets of original songs arranged especially for voice, piano/classical guitar, accordion and clarinet. The songs call on a number of influences including French chanson of the mid 20th century, modern and traditional latin jazz, and classical music. They are melodic in nature with intricately arranged accompaniments highlighting David Vaughan’s talents as both a performer, composer and arranger. Vaughan leads the show in his own relaxed, friendly style putting his audience at ease for what is an intimate, often heart-felt, sometimes dramatic, sometimes virtuosic show.
There are few contemporary British songwriters proposing such an original blend both of instrumentation and of musical styles. The sound of top UK accordionist, Romano Viazzani, combined with the spirit and panache of classical clarinetist Daniel Broncano, provides an inimitable backdrop to Vaughan’s songs. And yet this is neither folk nor traditional song, but something entirely original. He is very persuasive and deserves to succeed.”
David Vaughan (Voice, Piano, Classical Guitar) – With a varied career that spans work as a big band jazz trumpeter, jazz fusion keyboard-player, rock singer, commercial music composer and music teacher, it is for his performances as a singer-songwriter in major London jazz and cabaret venues that David Vaughan is best known.
Romano Viazzani (Accordion) – A veteran of the London cabaret and jazz scene, Romano Viazzani has performed in major London venues with artists such as Gilad Atzmon, Gabrielle Ducomble and Joanna Strand, and has extensive classical music experience having collaborated with orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.
Daniel Broncano (Clarinet) – Rapidly emerging as an exciting young soloist and recitalist and with numerous awards and prizes to his name, Daniel Broncano is also the organiser of the Música en Segura festival in Spain and continues to perform a wide variety of music with the Broncano/Mnich Duo and with the Colin Currie Group.
