Director Claude Faraldo takes a devastatingly funny swipe at conformity and genteel society in this wild and outrageous satire starring Michel Piccoli as the title character.

Themroc lives a life of boredom with his mother and sister in a squalid flat, while trying to hold down a dismally depressing mundane job. Themroc cracks.

Themroc incites mayhem at his factory, turns his flat into a cave dwelling, seduces his sister and dines on a cop who tries to investigate – meanwhile the neighbours try to pretend there’s nothing wrong.

As news of Themroc‘s anarchy starts to be covered by the media, more and more of Paris starts to follow his extraordinary example…

Using formless language and grunts, director Faraldo aims a surreal, absurd and funny satire at modern conformity, while Piccoli’s performance makes Themroc an entirely understandable and hilarious character.
