Having honed his skills as a pianist and singer-songwriter over numerous years, it was in 2012 that David Vaughan launched his own take on the great Jacques Brel with both a trio and ensemble featuring the UK accordionist Romano Viazzani and Spanish clarinettist Daniel Broncano. After releasing a debut album in 2015 he went on to perform in some of London’s top jazz and cabaret venues including the Bull’s Head in Barnes and The Pheasantry in Chelsea.
With the sad news of Scott Walker’s death in March of this year, and having found himself often compared to him, Vaughan now presents his own tribute to the Anglo-American singer-songwriter focusing on songs from the classic solo albums Scott, Scott 2 and Scott 3. In doing so, Vaughan repeats Walker’s own task of covering Jacques Brel by covering the masterpieces that Walker wrote for those albums of the late Sixties.
