AnchoriteX: Live offers a sonic journey through transcendence, noise and music.

The name behind this project is Federico Angelini, a sound artist based in London who experiments with original recordings, noise and electronic instruments. This mix translates into a crossroad between noise and melody. Using electronic instruments with a unique minimalistic approach, with the aim of exploring the nature and the limits of the instruments to produce sounds that are ethereal but also melodic. Influences, to name a few, include La Monte Young and John Cage.

His practice explores the experiential potential of sound through the manipulation of noise, repetition and the use of innovative materials. Loops, low frequencies and field recording sampling are recurring themes within his performance. This project started from the manipulation of particular sounds reminiscent of ritual instruments like temple bells and singing bowls, combined with industrial distorted noise. From this the idea of a post-modern ritual instrument that creates a sense of transcendence made from the combination of different sounds, AnchoriteX starts his sonic journey for this performance.
